How Can I Be a Beautiful Blonde and Still Have Healthy Hair?

If you weren’t born with that blonde hair, you know how dry and fine your hair can become from the stress of the bleaching process. There’s no reason why your hair can’t look and feel like it’s natural.

Your treated hair is probably damaged and dehydrated. A daily or weekly leave-in moisturizer can make a big difference, as it will help to seal in moisture. Try to avoid baking your hair with straighteners or curling irons. Obviously, you’re going to style it but use a balm or another product that will protect your hair from heat damage.

We always recommend that our blondes choose a gentle shampoo and conditioner that will protect their colour. We use Wella Professionals Brilliance Shampoo for the hair and usually recommend it since there are formulas for fine, normal, and coarse hair. Plus, one of the ingredients is diamond dust so you know your hair is going to sparkle.

A lot of my customers worry about swimming in salt water or chlorine. Remember to rinse right away to get rid of any residue. If you do notice that dreaded green tinge appearing, you can use a clarifying shampoo to help undo the damage. If that doesn’t help, your colourist certainly can help you. Book an appointment as soon as you notice a change in colour since the less touching up you need, the less damage and stress there is to your hair.
